In 2016, overcome with the scarlet surrounding women’s rights in Ireland, we decided to get off our fine asses and do something about it. Repeal the 8th is the fight for free, safe and legal access to abortion in Ireland. Living abroad, we felt a bit disconnected from this critical campaign, but we still wanted to get involved in the fight and knew other Irish diaspora would, too.

Thus, Repeal Global was born.

As Repeal Global we invited people to participate in solidarity protests wherever they were to align with the annual March for Choice in Dublin. From Kathmandu to Peru, NYC to Sydney, in more than 30 cities around the world, people stepped up to voice their support for the repeal campaign back home. They rallied again in 2017. And we have since held additional fundraising and solidarity events throughout our global network to support the work of the Abortion Rights Campaign in Ireland and Together For Yes.
